Most people prepare for SQL interviews by grinding hundreds of random questions. In the interview they still freeze, because they learned answers, not patterns. Most product-company SQL rounds use the same few patterns over and over, and once you can see the pattern behind a question, a new problem becomes one you've already solved. In this session we go through the pattern families that keep coming up in product-company SQL rounds, and we solve each one live. For each pattern: how to recognise it from the wording of the question, the query shape that solves it, and the mistakes that cost people the round. We'll also practise explaining your approach out loud, which interviewers score as much as the final query. If you can write a basic GROUP BY, you can follow along.
