Python Interview Questions for Data Engineers & Analysts
Data interviews don't test whether you know Python syntax. They test whether you can turn messy data into a correct answer under time pressure, and explain your thinking while you code.
Most Python prep for data roles is syntax drills. The interview is different: you get messy data, a time limit and an interviewer who wants to hear how you think. In this session we go through the six kinds of Python question that data engineering and data analyst interviews keep asking, and we solve each one live: core Python they still test, strings, files and JSON, pandas the way interviewers ask it, cleaning messy data, Python for pipelines, and the live coding round itself. For each one: what the question is really checking, the code that answers it, and the mistakes that cost people the round. We finish with a full live coding round where we think out loud, test the edge cases and then optimise. Bring your questions: live Q&A at the end. Outside India that is 12:00 AM PT, 2:00 AM CT, 3:00 AM ET, 8:00 AM BST, 9:00 AM CEST, 11:00 AM GST, 3:00 PM SGT and 6:00 PM AEDT.
Agenda
