How do the Google, Microsoft and IBM data analyst certifications compare?
Two are courses and one is an exam. Google's Data Analytics Professional Certificate and IBM's Data Analyst Professional Certificate are self-paced course series on Coursera that end in a capstone, and you earn them by finishing the courses. Microsoft's PL-300 is a proctored exam that tests whether you can already prepare, model, visualise and analyse data in Power BI. The table uses only what each official page said on 15 October 2026.
