'Data Engineering: From Zero to Production and Interview Ready' is a free 244-page PDF by Durgesh Yadav. It covers the standard stack and suits people who finish self-paced work. The free path above covers the syllabus. People pay for a deadline, a small batch, and someone who reads their code and says what is wrong with it. If you have finished a self-paced course before without stalling, you do not need to. Which resource should a complete beginner start with?
The book's Lecture Zero (the terminal) and Chapter 1 (what a data engineer does), then Chapter 3 for SQL. Do the graded SQL practice alongside Chapter 3. The roadmap becomes useful once you can write a join and explain what it did to the row count.
